Obituaries

Mrs. Mabel Lucille Fredell Willis Phillips, age 84 of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, and formerly of 824 Baxter Road in Cherryville, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norris Willis officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Phillips was born July 28, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late John James and Lucy Cary Pruitt.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Willis and Leonard Phillips.  She worked as a spinner. 

She is survived by three sons, Ronald E. Willis and wife Sis of Maiden, Robert E. Willis and wife Tisha of Flay, and Randy C. Willis and wife Faye of Claremont; three daughters, Vickie Harrelson and husband Roger of Cherryville, Judy Kay Propst and husband Johnny of Maiden, and Nancy Ellen Willis of Fallston; one sister, Minnie Steinhoff of Illinois; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
