Johnny Alfred Peeler, Jr.
( June 28, 1951 - February 4, 2012 )

Mr. Johnny Alfred Peeler, Jr., 60, died after an extended illness on Saturday, February 4, 2012. 

 

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Salem Baptist Church in Lincolnton.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Salem Baptist Church. 

 

He was born on June 28, 1951 to the late John Alfred Peeler, Sr. and Mary Rayfield Peeler.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret McCray, and brother, Toney Eugene Peeler.  Johnny served with the United States Army Reserves for 8 years.  He worked for Duke Power for 26 years, and owned his own construction company for the last 20 years.  Johnny was a wonderful husband, father, uncle and brother.  He also loved spending time with his friends, golfing and fishing.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

 

Johnny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janice Lockman Peeler of Lincolnton, NC; two sons, Jeffery Keith Peeler and wife Nicole Hardee Peeler of Raleigh, and Jonathan Alan Peeler and wife Jodi Stamey Peeler of St. Kitts, West Indies; brother, Tommy Owen Peeler of Iron Station, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

           

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC  28092, or to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
