Billie Mae Brotherton Cooke

Mrs. Billie Mae Brotherton Cooke, age 85, of Denver, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Carolina Caring in Sherrills Ford.
She was born on July 18, 1939, to the late James “J.B.” Brotherton and Ruby Mae Hager Brotherton. In addition to her parents, Billie Mae was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Brotherton Wilson (James), and brother, Jimmy Brotherton.
Billie Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she enjoyed helping prepare food for events and keeping flowers on loved ones graves. Billie Mae worked as a cook and waitress at various restaurants over the years, as well as worked at the East Lincoln Motor Speedway with her husband in admissions. In her free time, Billie Mae enjoyed talking with her friends, shopping, watering the flowers, and preparing meals for her family.
Those left to cherish Billie Mae’s memory are husband, Glenn Cooke; daughters, Donna Cooke Flowers (Joel), Debbie Cooke Raby (Joey); sister, Betty Ruth Brotherton Raper; grandchildren, Samantha R. McKenzie (David), Lexie F. Phillips (Matt), Sadie Flowers; and great-grandchildren, Madilyn McKenzie and Macallan Phillips.
A funeral service for Billie Mae will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Bethel United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Fulker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m.
