Madge Beattie Milholland Smith

Madge Beattie Milholland Smith, age 89, of Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025.
Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at Laboratory United Methodist Church with Rev. Amy Lambert, Rev. Nathan Grooms, and Rev. Charlene Hutchings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Smith was born February 17, 1936, in Lincoln County, to the late Marshall and Mamie Rumfelt Beattie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Smith. She worked as a knitter for Mohican Mills. Her faith meant the world to her and, even with her illness, she was able to witness to another lady at the facility during a bad time.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Milholland (Wanda), and Tony Milholland (Bonita), all of Lincolnton; brother, Dwight Beattie (Mary) of Lincolnton; and nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers and Related Disorders Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Suite 999, Charlotte, NC 28215.
